In line with the 76th Army Anniversary celebrations, a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant was successfully established at Kattakadukarankudierippu School on 06 October 2025, providing a lasting solution to the long-standing drinking water challenges faced by the students and villagers of the area.
The project was initiated under the direct guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, and carried out under the supervision of the 543 Infantry Brigade. The 11th Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery meticulously planned and executed the project, which was generously funded by Dr. Jinanjala Shanika Wijayagunasekara.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Principal, teachers, students, and villagers, who warmly welcomed this much-needed development.
This community-focused initiative stands as yet another example of the Sri Lanka Army’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the living standards of rural communities through sustainable development and Civil–Military cooperation. The newly established RO Plant will bring immense relief to the local population, ensuring consistent access to safe drinking water.
