Under the supervision of the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) and the 21 Infantry Division, the 211 Infantry Brigade successfully constructed a new cookhouse for M/Paranagamawewa School, located in the Gajabapura area of the Weli Oya Secretariat Division.
The newly built cookhouse was ceremonially declared open and handed over to the school on 10 October 2025. The event was held under the patronage of Brigadier T D P Siriwardene psc, Commander of the 211 Infantry Brigade.
The construction project was financially sponsored by Mr. R A U Ranasinghe, a philanthropist from the Gampaha area, whose generous contribution made this community initiative possible.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Zonal Director of Education, the Principal, teachers, parents, and students of the school, along with the Civil Coordination Officer of the 211 Infantry Brigade, the Commanding Officer of the 9th Gajaba Regiment, and officers and soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Services Regiment and the 211 Infantry Brigade.
This initiative reflects the continuous commitment of the Sri Lanka Army towards uplifting educational facilities and supporting the welfare of students in rural areas.
