GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 21 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS SEVERAL FORMATIONS UNDER COMMAND

Major General T N K Perera, General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, paid official visits to the 5 (V) Battalion the Gajaba Regiment, 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment, 2 (V) Battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and the 5 Sri Lanka National Guard under the 211 and 213 Infantry Brigades on 17, 20 and 21 January 2026 respectively.

Upon arrival at each formation, the General Officer Commanding was warmly received by the respective Commanding Officers along with the Brigade Commanders and was accorded a formal guard turnout in honour of his visit.

Addressing the troops, the GOC emphasized the paramount importance of maintaining discipline among soldiers, highlighting that individual conduct directly influences the reputation of the Sri Lanka Army as well as society at large. He further underscored the need to continuously enhance professional military knowledge and to execute assigned duties with dedication and precision.
