In conjunction with the 76th Army Day celebrations, and under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) and the directions of the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, the 212 Infantry Brigade, under the close supervision of its Commander, Brigadier B A M P Balasuriya RSP, successfully completed the renovation of all existing sanitation systems and the construction of a new sanitary facility at Kagama Dathusena Vidyalaya.
This initiative was conducted in parallel with the national “Clean Sri Lanka” programme, aiming to promote health, hygiene, and the overall well-being of schoolchildren.
The project was funded through a generous financial contribution by Mr. Shantha Kumar, a member of WANNI AIDS, a social welfare organization based in Canada, while the construction work was carried out with the voluntary labour support of personnel from the 2nd Engineer Services Regiment (2 ESR) and the 7th (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (7(V) SLAC).
The newly renovated and constructed facilities were officially handed over for the benefit of the students on 09 October 2025, marking yet another milestone in the Army’s ongoing commitment to community welfare and development.
