COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WANNI) VISITS 59 INFANTRY DIVISION AS PART OF FAREWELL ENGAGEMENTS

Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, the Commander of Security Forces (Wanni), visited the 59 Infantry Division on 13 March 2025 as part of his farewell engagements before relinquishing his duties. Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division, Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP along with Deputy General Officer Commanding Brigadier K H N P Hannadige RWP RSP psc, Brigade Commanders of the 592 and 593 Infantry Brigades, staff officers of the division headquarters, and commanding officers of affiliated units. During the visit, Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP delivered a welcome speech, acknowledging the contributions and leadership of Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc. The Commander of Security Forces (Wanni) then addressed the gathered troops, expressing his appreciation for their commitment and dedication to service. Following his address, he engaged in a cordial discussion with the officers and soldiers, fostering a sense of camaraderie. To commemorate the occasion, Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc also recorded a special message in the visitors' book, marking his final official interaction with the 59 Infantry Division.
