ANGAMPORA TRAINING PROGRAMME CONDUCTED SUCCESSFULLY BY 59 INFANTRY DIVISION

Under the concept and guidance of Major General J P C Peris RWP RSP ndc, Commander of Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) and the direction of Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP Commander 59 Infantry Division, the 593 Infantry Brigade successfully organized an ANGAMPORA training programme at the 6 Gemunu Watch. The programme was held from 20 January 2025 to 02 February 2025, with the participation of 70 dedicated soldiers from six infantry battalions under the command of the 59 Infantry Division.

This intensive training programme was conducted with the collective efforts and expertise of 15 skilled instructors from the Army ANGAMPORA team, who provided comprehensive training to enhance the soldiers' physical and mental resilience, combat techniques, and discipline.

The successful execution of this initiative reflects the commitment of the Sri Lanka Army to preserving and integrating traditional martial arts into modern military training, further strengthening the combat readiness and heritage of our forces.
