In a continued effort to strengthen civil-military cooperation and uplift the educational standards of underprivileged communities, the 7th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (7 SLSR) organized a school stationery distribution programme for the students of Nedunkulam Sinhala Medium Vidyalaya on 28 July 2025.
This community welfare initiative was carried out under the visionary guidance of the Commander, 563 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier P. A. Nandathilaka RSP USP, and was meticulously coordinated under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of 7 SLSR, Lieutenant Colonel M K D P P K Kankanige RWP RSP USP psc.
The programme was made possible through the generous financial sponsorship of Mrs. M L Y Chandarani Liyanaga. During the event, essential school stationery items were distributed to 45 students of the school. In addition to the distribution, several entertainment activities were organized to uplift the spirits of the children. The event concluded with a lunch arranged for both the students and school staff, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.
The event was graced by the presence of the Commander, 563 Infantry Brigade; the Civil Affairs Officer; the Commanding Officer of 7 SLSR; Mrs. M LY Chandarani Liyanaga and her family; along with the troops of 7 SLSR. The active participation of the school’s principal, teaching staff, and all students further enhanced the significance and success of the occasion.
