In line with its continued efforts to strengthen civil–military cooperation, the 56 Infantry Division successfully conducted a school stationery distribution programme at Nedunkulama Primary School on 24 December 2025. The initiative was organised in collaboration with the Free Biker Alliance World – Sri Lanka Branch to support schoolchildren from low-income families.
The programme was carried out under the leadership of Mr Nalitha Dissanayake, Head of the Free Biker Alliance World – Sri Lanka, who is a collegemate of Major General S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division. The event was made possible through the generous financial contributions of Mr Nalitha Dissanayake, his family members, donors among his college friends, and members of the Free Biker Alliance World – Sri Lanka.
During the programme, school stationery packs were distributed to 56 students, including 45 students from Nedunkulama Primary School and 11 students from Kokweliya Primary School. As a token of appreciation, the beneficiary students presented several cultural dance performances, showcasing their talents to the donors and other attendees.
The event was graced by the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Infantry Division, the Commander of the 563 Infantry Brigade, Principal Staff Officers of the Division, the Commanding Officer of the 8th Gemunu Watch, Mr Nalitha Dissanayake and his family, along with members of the Free Biker Alliance World – Sri Lanka. Principals of both schools, Mrs Niroshani Wimaladasa and Mrs U H A I Dissanayaka, together with teaching staff and parents, were also present.
Parents who attended the event expressed their heartfelt appreciation, noting that the donation significantly eased their financial burden and contributed positively to their children’s education.
