Marking a significant milestone in its proud history, the 542 Infantry Brigade celebrated its 15th Anniversary on 12 September 2025 with a series of dignified commemorative events, held under the guidance of the Brigade Commander, Brigadier A.R.W.C. Asurasingha RWP RSP USP.
The day commenced with traditional military honors, including a Guard Turnout presented to the Brigade Commander in recognition of his exemplary leadership and service. This was followed by a group photograph with all ranks, symbolizing the strength, unity, and enduring camaraderie of the Brigade.
A formal reception then took place, during which the Brigade Commander delivered an inspiring address to the troops. He reflected on the Brigade’s 15-year journey, its achievements, and the steadfast dedication of its personnel. Emphasizing discipline, professionalism, and unity, he highlighted their vital role in ensuring the Brigade’s continued success.
As part of the religious observances, a Bodhipuja ceremony was conducted, invoking blessings for the Brigade’s future endeavors. The anniversary events concluded with a lunch for all ranks, fostering fellowship, mutual respect, and harmony among officers and soldiers alike.
