As per the direction of the Major General A M C P Wijayaratne RWP RSP nps psc General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, a special lecture on "The Sri Lankan Community Formed Around the Valuable Areas of Mathottam and Mannar" was conducted at the Headquarters of the 54 Infantry Division as part of the Wednesday training day programme on 19 February 2025,.
The enlightening lecture was delivered by Senior Professor Raj Kumar Somadeva (BA [Hon.], MPhil, PhD [Sweden], DSc [Honoris Causa], University of Visual and Performing Arts, Sri Lanka), Senior Professor in Archaeology at the Postgraduate Institute of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya. The event was organized following an invitation from Brigadier A R W C Asurasingha RWP RSP USP, Commander 542 Infantry Brigade. 30 Officers and 175 Other Ranks of 54 Infantry Division Area were participated for this informative session.
Afterwards, the Officers of 11 Sri Lanka Artillery Battalion which was located under the 543 Infantry Brigade conducted a presentation on Thambapawani wind power project in order to enhance the knowledge of all officers.
