Under the leadership of Brigadier RADS Rajapaksa RSP AUSWC PSC the Commander of 243 Infantry Brigade, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture in Batticaloa, conducted a comprehensive agricultural development program on 26 February 2026. This initiative provided 3 x 60 military personnel and 18 local farmers with technical expertise in organic fertilizer production, sustainable home gardening, and non-toxic food cultivation through practical demonstrations. By distributing valuable plants and sharing specialized agricultural knowledge, the program successfully integrated civil military efforts to enhance regional food security and promote environmental friendly farming in the Batticaloa area.
