Under the guidance of the Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier TKD Dharmasena RWP RSP, and under the supervision of the Commanding Officer, 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, Major HMVP Herath SLNG, a Shramadana (community service) programme was conducted at Eeralakkulam GTM School, Kalkudah, Batticaloa, within the Area of Responsibility of 12 SLNG, on 16 February 2026 from 1200 hrs to 1400 hrs.
A total of 02 x 18 troops of 12 SLNG and 35 civilians from the area actively participated in the programme. During the initiative, troops and residents jointly engaged in clearing and cleaning the school premises, thereby enhancing the sanitary condition and appearance of the institution.
The programme was organized with the objective of promoting civil-military cooperation and extending assistance to the local community in line with the Army’s ongoing community-oriented initiatives.
