TROOPS DEPLOYMENT FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGED BY RECENT ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS

With the request of the Department of Railways and under the direction of the CommanderSecurity Force (East) Major General J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, a contingent of 02 × 50troops from the 24 Infantry Division (14 SLSR and 18 VIR) was deployed on 13 December 2025. Their task was the reconstruction of the railway infrastructure damaged by recent flooding between Gallalla and Manampitiya.
