The Sewalanka Foundation generously donated a consignment of dry rations, valued at approximately Rs. 100,000.00 to the 243 Infantry Brigade for distribution among families in Seruwawila who were affected by the recent flooding. This initiative aimed to provide essential relief to vulnerable communities and support their recovery during this challenging period. The programme was conducted under the special direction of the Commander Security Forces (East) Maj Gen JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc with the assistance of the General Officer Commanding 24 Infantry Division Maj Gen KW Jayaweera USP psc and the support of the Commander 243 Infantry Brigade Brigadier KMUP Kalupahana USP psc.
The event took place at 1230 hrs on 03 December 2025 with the participation of Brigadier KMUP Kalupahana USP psc Commander 243 Infantry Brigade along with a team of 4 × 10 troops from the 243 Infantry Brigade. Their involvement ensured the smooth coordination, handling and preparation of the donated items for distribution to the affected families.
The contribution from the Sewalanka Foundation, together with the dedicated support of the 243 Infantry Brigade, played a vital role in addressing the urgent needs of flood-affected communities in Seruwawila, strengthening civil–military cooperation and delivering timely humanitarian assistance.
