TROOPS OF THE 24 INFANTRY DIVISION CONTRIBUTE TO RELIEF OPERATIONS

Under the guidance of the Senior Officer, Major General K.W. Jayaweera USP psc, the Commander of the 24 Infantry Division, troops of the division actively engaged in clearing fallen trees caused by the heavy rainfall that affected the area of responsibility of the Division. Accordingly, a team of 1 officer and 5 soldiers from the 18th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, under the 18th Viper Unit of the 241 Infantry Brigade, was deployed to remove a tree that had fallen onto a house in the Samanthurai–Kallarichchel area. The task was successfully carried out at 1055 hours on 26 November 2025.

The troops, displaying great dedication, removed the fallen tree and restored normalcy for the affected civilians.
