Flood Rescue Operations by the 3 (v) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment

The 3 (v) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment conducted rescue operations for civilians affected by flooding in Ellakotaliya village.

Due to heavy rainfall in Ellakotaliya village, which falls under the SFHQ (E) area, severe flooding was reported. As a result, a group of residents became stranded. The 3 (v) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment deployed a team of 30 troops (01 x 30 personnel) to rescue the affected people.

Among those rescued were 4 men, 5 women, and 4 children.

The situation is now under control, and all rescued individuals have been safely relocated to designated safe locations. No further damage has been reported. The troops remain at these locations to provide continued support as needed.
