ARMY TROOPS UNDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) CONDUCT SPECIAL MEDICAL CAMP AT MUTUR

With the intention of uplifting the living standards of civilians residing within the Security Forces - East, a Medical Camp was organized by the 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, in coordination with Community Development Centre, on 01 November 2025 at Mutur.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Major General JSBW Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - East, with Colonel MTI Gunawardana RSP psc, Commander, 223 Infantry Brigade grace the occation as chief guest.. The Commanding Officer, 15 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, together with troops under command to the 223 Infantry Brigade, also participated in the event.

During the medical camp, a team of consultant doctors, nurses, and supporting medical staff provided a wide range of treatments covering general medicine, pediatrics, ENT, dermatology, dental, and eye care, along with blood sugar and blood pressure screening, health education, and counseling services. Special attention was also given to elderly patients, children, and expectant mothers, ensuring comprehensive healthcare support to all civilians who attended the programme.

A large number of civilians from Mutur and surrounding areas attended the camp and received free medical consultations and treatments. The event received high appreciation from the local community for the timely assistance provided by the Army.

The Medical Camp was organized as part of the Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) programme, aiming to strengthen the relationship between the military and the civilian population, and to promote community welfare within the area of responsibility of the Security Forces – East
