In commemoration of World Children’s Day on 01 October 2025, a donation of cricket equipment (leather) valued at Rs. 200,000.00 was made to Aselapura Maha Vidyalaya, Welikanda. This initiative was carried out under the guidance and direction of Major General G P P Kulathilaka ndc - General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division Headquarters, with the objective of promoting and enhancing the cricketing skills of the students.
The donation ceremony was held on 01 October 2025 at the school premises. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General G P P Kulathilaka ndc - General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division Headquarters. He was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel L R Senapathi - Civil Affairs Officer, 23 Infantry Division Headquarters. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal, members of the academic staff, and the student body of Aselapura Maha Vidyalaya, who warmly welcomed the guests and expressed their sincere appreciation for the generous contribution made by the Sri Lanka Army.
This community outreach initiative is part of the Army’s ongoing commitment to fostering youth development and strengthening civil-military relations.
