Commander Security Forces (East) and Colonel of the Regiment, Sri Lanka National Guard, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, paid his first official visit to the 12th Battalion of the Sri Lanka National Guard on 01 August 2025.
Upon his arrival, he was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of the battalion and was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance, in keeping with military tradition. As part of the welcoming ceremony, the Commander planted a tree at the battalion headquarters premises, symbolizing growth and sustainability.
Following this, the Commander posed for a group photograph with officers of the battalion and engaged in cordial interactions with the troops.
The visit included a comprehensive operational and administrative briefing by the Commanding Officer, offering detailed insights into current operations, administrative functions, and welfare initiatives being carried out within the battalion.
Before concluding the visit, Major General Pallekumbura recorded his observations and commendations in the visitors’ book, expressing his appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the personnel, particularly highlighting the efforts of the logistics team.
He also took the opportunity to address the troops of the battalion, delivering words of encouragement and commending their continued commitment and professionalism.
