20TH BATTALION OF THE GAJABA REGIMENT CONDUCTS DRY RATION AND LUNCH PACKET DONATION PROGRAMME

In a commendable display of community support and civil-military cooperation, the 20th Battalion of the Gajaba Regiment conducted a Dry Ration and Lunch Packet Donation Programme on 12th July 2025 at the battalion premises.

This humanitarian initiative was organized under the guidance of the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, with the intention of assisting vulnerable community members, particularly pregnant women in the Pulmudai area.

The programme was executed as part of the ongoing civil-military coordination efforts, aligned with the vision of the Commander of the 221 Infantry Brigade. It reflects the Army's commitment not only to national security but also to uplifting the well-being of local communities.

The event was graced by the Commanding Officer of the 20th Battalion, senior officers, other ranks, health officials, and local civilians, whose collective presence emphasized the unity and compassion that the programme was designed to foster.

This outreach initiative served as a testament to the Army’s dedication to extending a helping hand to those in need, further strengthening the bond between the military and the civilian population.
