241 Infantry Brigade Conducts Beach Cleaning Program

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General P. R. Pathiravithana, USAWC, psc, and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding the 24 Infantry Division, the 241 Infantry Brigade conducted a beach cleaning program on 04 June 2025. This initiative was organized as part of the civil-military coordination activities and aligned with the concept of the Brigade Commander, in parallel with the World Environment Day program.

The beach cleaning campaign covered approximately 2 kilometers of coastline from Sinhamuhaththuwaram to Thambatte. A total of 3 groups of 20 troops (03x20) from the 241 Infantry Brigade participated, along with 25 school students, staff from the Divisional Secretariat Alayadiwembu, the Pradeshiya Sabha Alayadiwembu, and 20 civilians.
