24 INFANTRY DIVISION CONDUCTS BEACH CLEANING PROGRAMME

Beach Cleanup Organized by the Marine Environment Protection Authority in line with the International Beach Cleanup Day was held on 10 September 2024 under the guidance and instructions of Major General W.L.A.C Perera RWP RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division and supervision of Brigadier L.S.D.N Pathirathne RSP USP, the Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade.

03 Officers and 25 troops were joined to clean the Akkarapattuwa Sinnamuhatthuvaram beach under the programme. Accordingly, 1500m of coastline was cleaned, and 26 troops from the Kalmunai Navy Base and 19 members of the staff of the Marine Environment Protection Authority also participated in the programme.
