Under the guidance of Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier L.S.D.N Pathirathna RSP USP, troops of 18 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) conducted a beach cleanup program in the Kalmunai coastal area on 25 August 2024.
The initiative focused on removing discarded wrappers, plastic bottles and polythene that had heavily polluted the approximately 500-meter stretch of coastline, restoring its natural beauty.
