In collaboration with the University of Kelaniya, the Department of Archaeology, the Central Cultural Fund, the Seruvavila Regional Council and the Seruvavila Regional Secretary's Office, a significant initiative has commenced to document and preserve ancient inscriptions at the Seruvavila Mangala Rajamaha Vihara.
Following the directions of the Commander of Security Forces (East), troops of 22 Infantry Division provided their assistance from 26 June 2024 to 11 July 2024 towards this endeavour.
Moreover, in conjunction with this effort, a commemorative book featuring cultural insights is scheduled to be launched to mark the centenary of the Nikini Perahera of the Seruvavila Mangala Rajamaha Vihara. This publication will include a comprehensive bibliography of the documented inscriptions, enriching the understanding of the historical significance of this site.
