THE WORKSHOP ON OFFLINE MAP SOFTWARE WITH THE AIM OF DEVELOPING THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE OFFICERS AND SOLDIERS OF 23 INFANTRY DIVISION.

Major General W P Kariyawasam, the General Officer Commanding of the 23 Infantry Division, has initiated and organizing a workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge of handling offline maps for the troops under command of the Infantry Brigade and Battalions. The workshop, held at lecture hall of the 23 Infantry Division Headquarters in Punani on 12 June 2024, featured a lecture conducted by S/324730 Staff Sergeant Amaradasa MM - 4 SF from the Special Forces Training School Maduruoya.

Attended 21 x 103 audiences comprise with senior officers, officers, and other ranks under 23 Infantry Division, the session focused on educating troops about offline map software. The lecture emphasized various aspects, including the installation of the offline map, configuring settings, creating waypoints, setting routes, paths, areas, and automating routines. It underscored the importance of avoiding pitfalls in handling the software.
