The coastal area of Akkaraipattu from Sinnamuhuthuvaram is highly polluted due to the discarded wrappers, plastic bottles, empty beer cans and wasted polythene and it is caused to pollute the beauty of Akkaraipattu coastal belt.
To avoid and control the prevailing situation in this coastal area, under the guidance and direction of the Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP Commander 241 Infantry Brigade, the troops of the 241 Infantry Brigade and the 11th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard has arranged beach cleaning Programme with the help of Aliadiwembu divisional secretariat and the MOH office and the general public of the area.
Moreover, for this programme Brigadier LSDN Pathirathna RSP USP Commander 241 Infantry Brigade and officers and the troops of 241 Infantry Brigade, officers and troops of 11th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard and the staff of divisional secretariat of Aliadiwembu and the general public of the area were participated.
