GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 23 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS 233 INFANTRY BRIGADE - VAKARAI

The General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General WP Kariyawasam, marked his maiden visit to 233 Inf Bde on 22 May 2024, after taking over duties as the General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division.

Brigadier TNK Perera, the Brigade Commander warmly welcomed the Genaral Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division on arrival. Subsequently, a Guard Turnout was awarded by the troops at the main entrance in accordance with military formalities.

Adding memories to the day, he planted a ‘Sandalwood' sapling in the premises and posed for a group photograph with the troops. Addressing the troops, the General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division emphasized about discipline of the troops.

Major General WP Kariyawasam, interacted with the troops during an All Ranks tea. After that he participated in a comprehensive briefing conducted by the Brigade commander.

Further, after departure from 233 Inf Bde GOC made a visit to 7 GW AOR. He joined the Officers in a lunch at the 7GW Officers’ Mess before departure.
