SECURITY FORCES COMMANDER (EAST) VISITS THE SINHALA LANGUAGE TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR TAMIL STUDENTS IN KOKKADICHOLAI.

The Security Forces Headquarters (East) commenced a Sinhala language training programme aiming the students of Ramakrishna Mission School, Kokkadicholai few months ago, aiming invaluable benefits for the reconciliation among different ethnicities in the society.

On 24 May 2024,Security Forces Commander (East) paid a visit to the Kokkadicholai Ramakrishna Mission School to observe the conduct of this noble program. At present a total number of 103 Tamil students are being benefited from this programme. During the visit, school children showcased their Sinhala language talents with few songs and speeches.

Major General ShewanthKulatunge, during his motivational speech,emphasised the importance of learning another language and how it could assist an effective reconciliation among different communities in the area. He further appreciated the uniting efforts of Mr. H. M. Anver who is the main instructor of this endeavour. Security Forces Commander (East) Major General S A Kulathunge, Senior staff officers of the Security Forces (East), officers and other ranks participated to the event.
