COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) CONDUCTS KEY LEADERSHIP ENGAGEMENTS IN BATTICALOA

The Commander Security Forces (East), Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, conducted few key leadership engagements in the Batticaloa town on 13 May 2024, after assuming his duties as the Commander Security Forces (East). The proceedings commenced with the visit to Al Aqsa Grand Jumma Masjid Muslim mosque in Kattankudy. During the visit, he interacted with the representatives of the Muslim community and attentively listened to their concerns

Thereafter, the Commander met the Government Agent at the District Secretariat office, Batticaloa. On his arrival, Mrs. J J Muralidaran warmly welcomed the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General S A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc. The Security Forces Commander described about the present status of the civil military coordination and his proposals to strengthen it in future

Afterwards, he visited the Bishop's house, Batticola and met Rt Rev. Joseph Ponniah, Bishop of Church of Batticaloa. The Commander discussed on strengthening the reconciliation among all ethnicities and conducting meaningful CIMIC activities in the future. The Bishop invoked blessings to the Commander, wishing him strength and success for his future endeavors

As the final act of the day, the Commander Security Forces (East) met with SDIG Ajith Rohana at the Senior Deputy Inspector General office at Batticaloa. During the discussion matters related to security and the importance of having effective coordination between Army and Police was discussed
