241 Infantry Brigade located in the Akkarapattu area of Ampara District celebrated its 10th anniversary last November 29th with a simple and proud ceremony as per Army traditions and customs. Brigadier LSDN Pathirathne RSP USP, the Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade, was accorded a guard turnout and parade, which was conducted by the troops of the 241 Infantry Brigade. The Brigade Commander addressed the troops and requested them to continue their dedicated work with the highest discipline as part of the anniversary message and he planted a sapling in tree at the Brigade premises to mark the anniversary day. Then the Brigade Officers and Other Ranks attended for a group photograph with the Commander of 241 Infantry Brigade.
Furthermore, the newly constructed main entrance of Warrant Officers and Sergeants’ mess and the holiday residence of Officers and Other Rank were declared open by the Commander 241 Infantry Brigade which was constructed by the Engineer Service Regiment troops of 24 Infantry Division and the Brigade troops. Finally, Commander 241 Infantry Brigade was attended for the All Rank lunch as the last event of the anniversary celebrations ceremony.
