EDUCATIONAL SESSION FOR 23 INFANTRY DIVISION TROOPS ON ACCOUNTING PROCEDURES IN THE ARMY

Under the directives of Commander Security Forces - East, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, Account Office organized an educational workshop on Army accounting procedures for the troops of the 23 Infantry Division and its subordinate units. The aim was to elevate and refine their understanding of accounting procedures and ensure their accurate application across various domains. The workshop was conducted on 14 November 2023, at Headquarters 23 Infantry Division in Punani.

The workshop was conducted by SF East Accountant Officer, Major MUIC Gunawardana psc and his team, the workshop specifically targeted the clerks responsible for financial affairs in their respective headquarters. A total of 70 account clerks actively participated in the session, gaining insights into various financial practices within the Army and addressing practical challenges they may encounter. This initiative proved to be a highly productive session, providing participants with the opportunity to clarify doubts and practice correct procedures. The overall goal is to minimize the errors and to promote professionalism in financial affairs within the Army.
