BRIGADE COMMANDER OF 242 INFANTRY BRIGADE OFFICIALLY VISITS TO UNDER COMMAND BATTALION

Colonel KPL Amunupure RWP RSP USP, the Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade - Komari marked his maiden visit to 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard at Kanchirankuda on 27 July 2023 after assumption of his duties. At the main entrance of the Battalion the Brigade Commander was accorded with Guard Turnout by the troops of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard. Then the visiting Brigade Commander was warmly welcomed by Major EDSK Deniyaya SLNG, the Commanding Officer 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard and afterwards Colonel KPL Amunupure RWP RSP USP to mark the visit to the battalion planted a Mango Sapling in the camp premises and then the Commanding Officer 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, briefed the Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade at the Commanding Officer’s Office regarding the Area Of Responsibility, troops deployment and other important aspects in 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard AOR with the participation of Civil Affairs Officer of 242 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

Then addressed the Officers and Other Ranks. During his address, the Brigade Commander spell out his vision and expectation from troops under his command. Then he attended a tea hosted at the Officers’ Mess with gathering of Officers.

As the last segment of the day Brigade Commander 242 Infantry Brigade visited the Alpha Company Kanchikudiaru area along with the Commanding Officer and Civil Affairs Officer 242 Infantry Brigade. After visited Alpha Company he attended a lunch hosted at the Officers’ Mess with gathering of Officers. Before his departure from the 8 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard pened his thoughts in the Visitor’s Book.
