Association with the Mobile Medical and Eye Care Unit of Help Age Sri Lanka, a medical clinic and eye clinic were held on 10 June 2023 at Gemunu Maha Viharaya, Sinhapura by the supervision of the Commanding Officer, and troops of 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery. About 250 patients attended the eye clinics and the Help Age Sri Lanka gave word, those eligible to receive spectacles will facilitate within one month.
Keeping that word Help Age Sri Lanka distributed free spectacles for selected 155 people over 55 years of age living in low-income families in Sinhapura village on Tuesday (18 July) as per the result of conducted medical camp previously. Lieutenant Colonel MIS Chandrakumara USP Psc Commanding Officer and troops of 9 SLA have organized the event under the direction of Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, the 23 Infantry Division at the Welikanda Cultural Center. The programme was held with the sponsorship of Help Age Sri Lanka and Supreme Global Holdings institutes.
The Eastern Commander, Major General Darshana Wijesekera participated as the chief guest of the event. Brigadier KVNP Premaratne RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, senior officers of the Security Forces Headquarters East and 23 Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel MIS Chandrakumara USP Psc, Commanding Officer, and troops of 9 Field Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery participated to this programme. Moreover, Staff of the Help Age Sri Lanka and Supreme Global Holdings institutes also took part in this special occasion.
