The General Officer Commanding the 24 Infantry Division, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc, upon arrival after receiving his new insignia as a Major General on 04 February 2023 was warmly welcomed by the Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the 24 Infantry Division and under command Brigades and Battalions on Monday (February 13). The newly-promoted General Officer Commanding was accorded with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour as he entered the premises.
As the next event of the day’s proceedings, the General Officer Commanding symbolized the day’s event, planting a “Sal” sapling (Shorea Robusta) in the Headquarters 24 Infantry Division.
In line with military formalities, the General Officer Commanding addressed the Officers and Other Ranks of the Division, and under command Brigades and Battalions expressed his sincere thanks to all ranks for organizing such a magnificent event to extend well wishes to the Officers and Other Ranks.
