SECURITY FORCES (EAST) COMMANDER MAKING HIS FIRST FORMAL VISIT TO EASTERN NAVAL COMMAND

The Eastern Naval Command extended warm welcome to Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, The Commander of Security Forces (East) when he made his first formal visit to the Eastern Naval Command after assuming duties of the Commander of Security Forces (East). The Commander of Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, warmly welcomed the Commander of Security Forces (East), Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi at Headquarters Eastern Naval Command Trincomalee on Friday (10 February).

During the ensuing meeting, the Eastern Navel Area Commander and Security Forces (East) Commander exchanged views on several matters of mutual importance and discussions also focused on security in the eastern territory and related other issues. This was also the first official interaction between the newly appointed Army and Navy Commanders of the eastern area.

Afterward, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi visited the SLNS Sagara Offshore Patrol Vessel and Sri Lanka Navel and Maritime Academy Trincomalee. The cordial meeting culminated with an exchange of mementos, symbolizing cooperation and goodwill.
