CAPTURE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS

According to an information received by 7 Military Intelligence Corps (MIC), Intelligent troops (attach to 221 Infantry Brigade) together with Trincomalee Police officials, a person was arrested with 7g of Kerala Cannabis at Trincomalee on 03 December 2022. Suspected person with illegal drugs was handed over to the Trincomalee Police Stations for further investigations.

In the meantime, another 3g of Kerala Cannabis with one person and 60mg of Heroin with one person were arrested by Kantale Police officials together with 7 MIC troops (attach to 222 Infantry Brigade) by information received to 7 MIC on 04 November 2022 at Wendrasanpura and Ganthalawa area at Kantale. Arrested person and items handed over to Kantale Police Station.

On the same day, Kantale Police officials together with 7 MIC troops arrested one person with 210mg of Methamphetamine (Ice) at Peraru, Kantale and arrested person and items handed over to Kantale Police Station.

Commander, Security Forces (East) together with General Officer commanding, 22 Infantry Division and Commanders of the 221 and 222 Infantry Brigades closely monitor above raids and that will uplift the confidence of general public over military.
