THE INTER BATTALION BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT OF 23 INFANTRY DIVISION IN 2022 WAS HELD

With an concept of Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena directions of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division, Major General Shewantha Kulathunge and close supervision of the Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Dilupa Bandara, The Inter Battalion Basket ball tournament in 2022 of 23 Infantry Division was held on 29th and 30th October in the “Siwananda” Collage Basketball Court at Kallady. With under command Battalion teams of 23 Infantry Division,4th the Gemunu watch, 12th the Gemunu watch, 11th (Volunteer) Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

Accordingly, the 11th (Volunteer) Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment won the Championship by defeating the 12th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard. The “prize given” for the winning team and the players who performed well in the final match, General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division presided over the presentation and also Commander, 231 Infantry Brigade, commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of Under command Battalion were participation for the event.
