SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS- EAST MARKS ITS 19TH ANNIVERSARY

The Security Forces Headquarters - East recently marked its 19th anniversary with few special programmes from 27 Oct 2022 to 30 Oct 2022.

Directed by Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Priyantha Jayawardena, a string of commemorative activities, including religious observances were organized by officers, other ranks and the members of civil staff, serving at Security Forces Headquarters - East, beginning in the evening on 27 October, a special “Bodhi Puja Pinkama” was held, followed by invocation of blessings on the troops of SFHQ-(E) and in the morning on 28 October “Milk Alms” pooja at the sacred Somawathiya temple. On the same day in the afternoon, alms and pirikara pooja was held for the “maha sangha rathnaya” at the camp premises.

On 30 October morning, the anniversary day, At the commencement of the day’s programme, after the formalities, as a part of the programme, all officers and other ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters - East met at the all ranks lunchafter that 50 packs of dry ration were distributed among the civil employers who are service in Security Forces Headquarters - East by Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Sujeewa Jayasinghe and a grand musical show also held at evening in the Headquarters premises marked the culmination of anniversary celebrations.
