BIDS FAREWELL TO ITS OUTGOING GOC OF 24 DIVISION

The outgoing General Officer commanding of 24 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama was saluted in accordance with military traditions during a formal farewell, held at the 24 Infantry Division Headquarters premises on Sunday (02).

On the arrival of GOC 24 Inf Div, a Guard turnout at the entrance and a Guard of honours parade in the parade square at 24 Infantry Division Headquarters, honoured the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 24 Div. He was also invited to pose for a, group photo at the 24 Div HQ compound as a symbol of memory.

Furthermore, an all rank tea marked the occasion in accordance with military traditions to mark the relinquishment of his appointment, the outgoing GOC addressing the troops of the 24 Div thanked all ranks for their generous assistance and support extended to him during his tenure. A memento was also awarded to him as a souvenir towards the end of the occasion.

All Infantry Brigade Commanders, Colonel General Staff, Colonel Admin and Quartering, Senior Staff Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops were present during the occasion.
