233 BRIGADE CONDUCTS CRICKET (HARD BALL) COACHING SESSION IN SCHOOLS OF BATTICALOA DISTRICT

With the aim of improving sports skills of school children in Batticaloa district, the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Wasantha Hewage conducted a Cricket (Hard Ball) coaching session for the students of B / Vakarai Maha Vidyalaya and B / Kathiraweli Vigneshwaram Maha Vidyalaya on 15 March 2022.

Training session was conducted by the Eastern province coach of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr JAM Fazil and Mr PK Anverdeen and 35 students participated in the session from both schools. This marks as the first time where the students of Vakarai area got an opportunity to play Hard Ball Cricket.

The programme was conducted on the concept of the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Lal Chandrasiri and it was supervised by the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatte.

Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Brigadier Wasantha Hewage, Civil Coordinating Officer of 233 Infantry Brigade, Second in Command of 6th Gajaba Regiment, Coaching Staffs, Principals and Teachers of the both schools joined the event.
