The foundation stone-laying for construction of one more new house for a needy family living in No 66, Kandakadu, Welikanda in the East was held on 11 January 2022 during a simple ceremony, adhering to health formalities.
The proposed house is to be constructed with the financial sponsorship of Mr Nihal Udugama Suriyage living in Australia.
The project is to be continued under the overall supervision and guidance of the Commander, Security Force - East, Major General Lal Chandrasiri. Construction of the house for the beneficiary will be carried out by troops of the 9th Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery under the 233 Infantry Brigade with the directions of the Commander 233 Infantry Brigade Colonel Wasantha Hewage. The General Officer Commanding - 23 Division Major General Nalin Koswatta will supervises its progress.
Chief Coordinator Civil Affairs SFHQ (E) - Colonel Ushan Gunawardhana, Commanding Officer of 9 SLA - Lieutenant Colonel Dinesh Wanigasekara, Officers and Other Ranks attended this occasion.
