A dry ration donation programme conducted by 11th (V) Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment was successfully held at Sunethraramaya Temple in Keviliyamaduarea on Sunday (26) under the guidance of the Commander 231Infantry Brigade Brigadier Dilupa Bandara. This was an initiative aimed in order to alleviate hardships, faced by civilians and it was conducted in line with the series of community-oriented welfare programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Army.
The programme was conducted with the sponsorship of Mrs Shiromi Maskorale, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Communication in Hemas Holding PLC,for 50 needy families in Keviliyamadu area.
The Commander Security Force(East) Major General Lal Chandrasisi graced this event as the Chief Guest during his maiden field visit to the 11 (V) SLSR and the programme was underway with the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 23 Infantry Division Major General Nalin Koswatte.
General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters-East, Commander 231 Infantry Brigade, Civil Affair Officer of 231 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer of 11 (V) SLSR, troops of 11 (V) SLSR and the civilians attended the event.
