A stock of dry rations and school accessories was taken to a needy family with children, resident in Seenipura, Kantale on Friday (15) after their plight was noticed by the Officers and Other Ranks of 5(V) Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) of the 222 Infantry Brigade under the 22 Infantry Division.
Apart from the school accessories, three children of the family will be provided an amount of Rs 7500.00 (Each child Rs 2500.00) monthly and will be extended until those students complete their O/L examination. The financial contribution for this project was provided by Officers and Other Ranks of 5 (V) SLA.
This programme was conducted on the instructions of Major General Sanath Aluvihare, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 22 Infantry Division and under the supervision of the Commander 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Nadeeka Kulasekara.
222 Brigade Commander, Commanding Officer of 5 (V) SLA, Civil Affairs Officer 222 Infantry Brigade, Officers and Other Ranks of 5 (V) SLA participated in the event.
