The 231 Brigade of the Security Force Headquarters (East) celebrated its 9th anniversary on Tuesday (10), on a low-profile due to the resurgence of COVID-19 epidemic, including prioritized religious observances.
On the anniversary day, an alms giving was organized at Kalkudah Sri Seelankara Pirivena to invoke blessings for fallen War Heroes and the serving Officers and Other Ranks of the Brigade. In the meantime, a blood donation campaign was also organized on the following day in collaboration with the blood bank of Teaching Hospital Batticaloa where 75 persons volunteered to donate their blood during the day. Adhering to preventive health measures, troops participated in the programmes.
