EAST COMMANDER RELINQUISHES THE OFFICE

Major General W G H A S Bandara RWP RSP ndu relinquished the office as the 19th Commander Security Force (East) on 06 August 2020 amidst traditional military formalities being accomplished at the Security Force Headquarters (East) premises, Welikanda.

The day’s proceedings commenced with the outgoing Commander being accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops of 4th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch. Thereafter Commander addressed the troops where he thanked everyone for the dedication and cooperation extended to achieve desired results on the Eastern Theatre as a cohesive military force and urged to continue the good job of work.

Further, he insisted preserving the image of the Army through maintenance of highest standards of discipline at all levels and function in all aspects, most efficiently and effectively. The outgoing Commander Security Force (East), Major General Senarath Bandara is due to assume office as the Commander Security Force (Jaffna) on 09 August 2020.
