On behalf of the Commander of the Army, the Commander Security Forces (East) Major General Rasika Fernando attended the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for proposed Dagoba at Dambana, Gurukumbura Adiwasi Janauruma Viharaya premises held on 25 January 2020. The Commander Security Forces (East) attended the event in response to an invitation made by the Chief Incumbent of Dambana, Gurukumbura Adiwasi Janauruma Viharaya, Ven. Galporuyaya Pradeepawansa Thero to the Commander of the Army.
Ven. Warakagoda Gnanarathana Thero Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter of Siam Nikaya, Ven. Waturakumbure Dhammaratana Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Nelligala International Buddhist Centre, Ven. Walpola Gothama Thero, the founder of Baunpalassa International Buddhist Centre, Gampaha, Vadda Chief Uruwarige Wanniyala Aththo and devotees were present on this occasion.
