"Tutor Resilience Programme" a psychosocial intervention awareness workshop was held from 11 to 13 September 2019 at Battaicalo Kurinchamunai School premises. Commander 23 Division Major General Kapila Udalupola attended the event as the Chief Guest.
As the invitees Vice Chancellor Eastern University Professor F C Ragal, Zonal Director of Education, Batticaloa West Mr. S Sridharan, Representing Shanthi Foundation Mr. Sujeewa Rathnayake, Representing the University of Milan Professor Veronica and representing BT/Kannankudah MV Mr. Pullendrakumar (Principal) took part in this final day of workshop.
Colonel Mihidu Perera, the Commander 231 Brigade coordinated the event in collaboration with Shanthi foundation Dehiwala and with the support of 4th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch. The main aim of this event was to enable teachers to become Tutors of Resilience to pupils. 29 teachers and 150 students benefited by this workshop.
At the end, the GOC 23 Division handed over the certificates and distributed the gifts to the participants. At the end of this ceremony Shanthi Foundation donated five sewing machines to lower –income families in this area.
