A PROGRAM WITH SCHOOL CHILDREN TO MARK THE NATIONAL DRUG PREVENTION WEEK IN BATTICALOA

Security Force Headquarters (East) implemented a program to coincide with the National Drug Prevention Week, on 05 Jul 2019 at Vincent Girls' High School Batticaloa as an expression to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of a society free of drug menace.

More than 200 school children representing all communities gathered for this event and they took part in oratory competitions, art competitions, and debates on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The prize giving ceremony of the competitions was organized by 23 Division and 231 Brigade.

Major General Aruna Jayasekera, the Commander Security Forces (East), Major General Nevil Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Major General Kapila Udalupola General Officer Commanding 23 Division, Colonel Mihindu Perera Commander 231 Brigade, attended for the event.
