A WORKSHOP ON ‘THE MENACE OF CHILD ABUSE AND HARASSMENT ON WOMEN'

In view of educating the Officers and Other Ranks serving in Security Force (East), a workshop on 'The menace of child abuse and harassment on women and its prevention’ was held under the patronage of Commander Security Forces (East) Major General K P A Jayasekera WWV RSP USP ndc psc on 28 January 2019 at the auditorium of Security Force Headquarters (East) Welikanda.

Ven. Kaduruwela Dhammapala Thero, I P Mrs. L D Sanjeewani - OIC Child and Women Bureau of Polonnaruwa Police Division, Lieutenant Colonel E M I Ekanayake - CO 2SLCMP and several resource personnel conducted the workshop emphasizing repercussions of Army personnel being involved in women and child abuses cases and its effects towards the image of the Army and the whole society. During the workshop, the attendees received a wide exposure on the timely importance of restoring moral values and ethics in the society to prevent sexual crimes against women and children.
