The troops of the 224 Brigade together with members of Catholic community conducted a Christmas Carols Service with a special Mass on 24 Monday at Marie´s Church Saliyapura, Trincomalee. More than 50 school children attended the programme and recited Christmas carols in Sinhala and Tamil languages as a symbol of goodwill and harmony.
The programme was organized with the intention of promoting reconciliation, religious amity and peace among all ethnic communities during Christmas season, following guidelines given by Major General Nevil Weerasinghe General Officer Commanding 22 Division. During the Carol Service, Santa Claus distributed Christmas gifts among children.
